Most of the pieces in this collection can be not-/performed by any non-/musical instruments. “probable no.41” is also part of a series I’ve written based on the wonderful poetry of Gertrude Stein.
The majority of the pieces in my collection “probable” were created with the idea of the non-performative aspect of performance in support of artists who are wiped out or disappear as a result of social-political decisions and circumstances.
The “probable” collection is about “nearly nothing.” This collection is characterized either by non-conventional components, indeterminate elements, confusion, undefined materials, impossibility, invisibility, etc., or by musical elements that are coupled with these materials. The performance of collection occurs when an aim, concept, intention, or interpretation causes this nothingness to become something.
The program includes works by Emily Koh, Ramin Akhavijou, Piyawat Louilarpprasert, Jean-Patrick Besingrand, Brandon Amy Brandon, Victor Baez, Chatori Shimizu, and Tomasz Skweres.
